Merger Consultation

We were pleased to have held a public consultation for the possible merger between our two successful multi-academy trusts, Rainham Mark Education Trust (RMET) and Veritas Multi Academy Trust.

A public consultation provided an opportunity for all stakeholders from each Trust, including pupils, parents/carers, staff and local communities, to feel fully informed of the merger process and have a voice within the process.

The Consultation is now closed, but was open from Monday 3rd February to Thursday 6th March 2025.

During this time all stakeholders were invited to attend one of the consultation events held across the Trust, these were held at:

Rainham Mark Grammar School, Rainham - Monday 10th February, 7.00pm - 8.00pm

Riverside Primary School, Rainham - Monday 24th February, 5.00pm - 6.00pm

Twydall Primary School, Gillingham - Monday 3rd March, 2.00pm – 3.00pm

How stakeholders were able to respond and give their views

We provided additional information and some helpful FAQ's to give further information about the merger and the next steps.

There were a number of ways that stakeholders could provide feedback:

All views provided were reviewed to ensure the consultation process complied fully with the 2018 Cabinet Office principles for a fair and open consultation. At the end of the consultation period, the findings of both the due diligence and feedback received were analysed by the Trust Board to determine the next steps.  We have published our decision regarding whether or not to proceed with the merger and have also included an additional Merger Consultation FAQ’s report.
